Char Dham Yatra

Day 1: Arrival - Dehradun to Barkot via Mussoorie

The Char Dham Yatra begins from Dehradun. Upon arrival at Prince Chowk in Dehradun, you will be greeted by our representative who will guide you on the road trip to Barkot via the scenic hill station of Mussoorie. On the way, you can stop at the famous Kempty Falls to take a refreshing dip. After enjoying the natural beauty, the journey continues to Barkot, where you will check in to your hotel. The weather here remains pleasant, allowing you to spend time outside if you wish. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Barkot.

Day 2: Drive from Barkot to Yamunotri Dham

Early in the morning, you will drive from Barkot to Phoolchatti or Jankichatti, which serves as the starting point of a 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple. You can choose to walk, ride a horse, or use a doli (palanquin) for this trek. Along the way, you will pass through beautiful emerald valleys dotted with conifers, cacti, and rhododendrons. At Yamunotri, pilgrims visit Surya Kund, where rice is cooked in hot springs as prasad, and take a holy dip in the Jamnabai Kund. You will also worship at Divya Shila and seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna before returning to Barkot for overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi - Temple Visit

On day three, you will drive from Barkot to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, you will pay homage to the Vishwanath Temple and Shakti Temple, two significant shrines in the area. After the temple visits, you will check into your hotel to rest and prepare for the next day’s journey. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

 

Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri Dham and Return to Uttarkashi

On this day, you will drive to Gangotri, one of the main pilgrimage sites on the Chota Char Dham circuit. On the way, you can take a holy dip in Garam Kund at Gangnani. After reaching Gangotri, visit the temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Nearby attractions such as the Kedar Ganga Sangam and the submerged Shivling are also worth a visit. In the evening, you will return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

 

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

As the sun rises, you will drive from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi, passing through Moolgarh and Lambgaon. En route, enjoy scenic views of the Mandakini River at Tilwara. After arriving at Guptkashi, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, visit the Ardhnarishwar Temple, an important spiritual site in Guptkashi. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath Dham

After completing your medical check-up, you will proceed to Sonprayag. From here, you will begin the 19 km trek to Kedarnath, which can also be covered by pony or palki (palanquin). It is advisable to carry warm clothes, medicines, and toiletries for the overnight stay at Kedarnath. Upon arrival, pay your respects at the Kedarnath Temple, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

 

Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Start your day early with a bath, followed by participation in the Abhishek pooja at the Kedarnath Temple. Pilgrims can enter the Garbha Griha (sanctum sanctorum), bow before the idol, and offer prayers. After darshan, begin the trek back to Sonprayag, from where you will be escorted back to Guptkashi. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

 

Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath

On this day, you will travel to Badrinath, the final shrine on the Chota Char Dham Yatra. Situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, Badrinath Temple rests between the Nar and Narayan mountains. Before entering the temple, pilgrims take a holy bath in the Tapt Kund hot springs on the banks of the Alaknanda River. The area surrounding the temple includes several sacred spots such as Sheshnetra Ashram, Brahma Kapal, and the Mata Murti Temple, where you can seek blessings from the mother of Lord Badrinath. Other nearby attractions include Bhim Pul, Vasundhara Waterfall, and Vyas Gufa. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

 

Day 9: Badrinath Temple Visit and Drive to Rudraprayag

Begin your day with a bath and then visit the Badrinath Temple for darshan. After the temple visit, you will begin your journey to Rudraprayag. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

 

Day 10: Rudraprayag to Rishikesh and Dehradun

On the final day of the pilgrimage, you will drive to Rishikesh, known as the Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas and a holy town on the banks of the River Ganges. Here, you can visit famous temples and attractions including Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhula, and the Sivananda Ashram. After exploring Rishikesh, you will be transferred to Prince Chowk in Dehradun for your onward journey.
