Chopta Chandrashila Tungath Trek with Deoriatal

Day 1: Rishikesh to Chopta (212 km | 8–9 hours)

Your journey begins with pickup from Rishikesh Tapovan at 7:30 AM. The scenic drive takes you through Devprayag and Rudraprayag, following the rivers and mountain roads deep into the Garhwal Himalayas. After an 8–9 hour drive, you’ll reach the beautiful alpine region of Chopta, located at an altitude of 2,012 meters. Upon arrival, settle into your campsite, soak in the mountain air, and enjoy the serene surroundings. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by an overnight stay under the stars.

Day 2: Trek to Tungnath & Chandrashila | Drive to Sari (8–9 hours total)

Wake up early to start your trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The trail is surrounded by rhododendron forests and panoramic Himalayan views. After reaching Tungnath, you can continue your ascent to the Chandrashila summit at 3,683 meters (12,083 ft), where the 360-degree view of snow-capped peaks will leave you breathless. After spending some time at the summit, trek back to Chopta. Post-lunch, you’ll drive approximately 8 km to reach the village of Sari. Here, you’ll check into a peaceful campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Deoriatal Trek & Return to Rishikesh (220 km | 8–9 hours)

The final day begins with a short 3 km morning trek from Sari to the pristine Deoriatal Lake. Known for its crystal-clear reflections of the Chaukhamba peaks, the lake is perfect for some peaceful exploration and photography. After soaking in the beauty of Deoriatal, trek back down to Sari village. From there, begin your return journey to Rishikesh. The drive takes around 8–9 hours, and you can expect to reach Rishikesh or Haridwar between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM, wrapping up an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
